This is my mixed media canvas challenge for the month of November. I painted the canvas with acrylic paint and then used Archival inks to stencil trees onto the canvas. I found the big brown tree in my stash. I used Tim Holtz Distress inks to color paper for all my leaves. There are some leaves done with orange embossing powder, since that was included in the kit. The embellishment that was included was a large, heavy Graphic 45 clothespin. I took it apart and cover it with leaves. The final step was dots of gold stickles scattered throughout the tree.
I needed to do a swap card for a group I belong to. The theme was Winter Wonderland. I used gelatos for the background and then used Viva Inca Gold for the circles. I stamped snowflakes with white pigment powder and embossed with clear embossing powder. The snowman was colored with copics. I used a white Viva Pearl Pen for the mounds of snow.
I am participating in a mixed media postcard challenge. The theme is Winter Wonderland. I used gelatos on the background and then used a Tim Holtz mask for the snowman. The dots were done with a stencil and Archival Ink. I colored the hat with copics and the nose with Spica pens. Finally, there are snowflakes stamped with white pigment ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.
The Friday coloring challenge at The Outlawz this past week was Thanksgiving. I love my stamps with pumpkins and harvest. I waterecolored this image. I am finding that some of these scenic images turn out better with the watercolors.
I have been playing with the Tim Holtz Crazy Bird stamps and making these really cute canvases. I painted the canvas with Dylusions paints and did some stenciling with the paint. I then added the birds. Then did some stenciling with the Tim Holtz stencils using texture paste and acrylic paint. Finally, I added some small black dots.
The color challenge at The Outlawz this week was to use Orange, Yellow, Burgandy, and Dark Teal. I embossed the trees with an orange embossing powder. The leaves in the corner were done with Distress Inks.
I stamped these jeans from Judikins with Tim Holtz Faded Jeans distress ink. I added the brads at the top of the pocket and popped up just the top of the pocket. This cute frog stamp has been in my stash for many years.
The Paper Ala Mode Challenge at The Outlawz this past week was to make a Thanksgiving card. The background papers are things that have been my stash forever! The image is from Unity Stamp Company. And, yes, the turkey does wobble.
This weeks CAS challenge at The Outlawz was to make a Christmas card using non-traditional colors. I chose to do a house mouse image and give him pink and purple ornaments. The embossing in the corner just adds a little pizzazz to the card.
I have been playing with the Bloom Girls and making canvases from them. I did the canvas with gelatos, and then used archival ink with punchinella and stamps. I glued the smaller canvas on top of the bigger canvas. The Bloom Girl was water colored.
The Sunday CAS challenge at The Outlawz this week was to use something from your stash that you have not used in a long time. I chose to use this collage stamp from Hero Arts. I love black and white cards and the pop of yellow on the flower just finishes it off.
This is my take on the Sketch challenge at The Outlawz this past week. The image and words are from Unity stamp company. I used Labels 4 from Spellbinders, cutting off the top of the die for the words. The words are embellished with a Viva Pearl Pen.
I have been playing with mixed media a lot. I saw a canvas similar to this at a scrapbooking store and decided I needed to CASE it. The background is old music that I tore up into small pieces. The trees are all patterned paper that were distressed with Tim Holtz Distress inks. I added the little snowflake embellishments, coloring the ones on the top of the trees with copics.
Pocket Letters are the newest craze in the papercrafting world. I have been bit by the bug. This is my first pocket letter. It was a lot of fun to do, especially since I just see it as 9 ATCs with a theme.
The Monday Greeting Challenge this week at The Outlawz was "Christmas Reflections". I chose to use this House Mouse stamp where the mouse was stringing his cranberries for the tree. I love the pinecone tree.
